Electrical Conductance

It is a measure of how easily electricity flows along a certain path through an electrical element.  The SI derived unit of conductance is the siemens (also called the mho, because it is the inverse of an ohm).  Oliver Heaviside coined the term in September 1885.  Electrical conductance is related to but shold not be confused with conduction, which is the mechanism by which charge flows, or with conductivity, whcih is a property of a material.

Ernst Werner von Siemens (known as Werner von Siemens) December 13, 1816 - December 6, 1892 was a German inventor and industrialist.  Siemens' name has been adopted as the SI unit of electrical reactivity, the siemens.
